My term as CJC president ends on December 31st. It has been a pleasure – and an honor. The club will be in good hands with Ted Hill at the helm, or should I say the cockpit. I’ve been privy to discussions about possible upcoming events next year and it’s going to be an exciting year. As ad manager for the Jaguar Journal, I enjoy the opportunity to read the proofs before the issues go to press.
I want to give you a heads up about an activity at the AGM in March that many of you may be interested in. There’s going to be a tour of West Point and is only available to the first 55 JCNA members and/or JLR employees to reserve a place. YOU MUST BOOK FOR THIS ACTIVITY BY MARCH 1, 2019. You may want to book early. As you can imagine, security is tight as this is an active military post. Information on acceptable IDs: www.usma.edu/visiting/sitepages/ home.aspx. It’s worth mentioning that without proper ID, you will be denied access. The West Point Tour will begin in the West Point Museum where at least three docents will accompany the group to guide and answer questions. After the museum tour, where will be a professionally-guided tour through West Point lasting three hours. The registration form for AGM activities will be in the Jaguar Journal’s January/February issue and will be posted on the JCNA website.
I was cleaning out my JCNA file and found the JCNA Club Roster Counts: Year-End Comparison. This form was distributed to all 2018 AGM attendees. It’s worth noting that YE 2017, CJC reported 154 members. According to the last email I received from the membership committee dated October 4, the club has reached an all-time high membership of 178. Thank you to Kevin and Nancy Willis, membership chairs, for their efforts. Which brings me to my next and final point: club volunteers. Without our volunteers, we would not be able to function as a club. To the members who have volunteered, thank you! I wish you and your families all the joy of the holidays, and all the health and happiness a new year can offer.
Buckle up!
Diane
