Could February be the new April? What great weather to put the top down, open the sunroof or simply put the windows down! It’s getting close to that time of the year that we start planning and attending car shows/concours/events. There’s a full calendar of events to fit your budget and schedule. There are one or two new ones on the calendar this year. For details, see the calendar of events on page 14 of this issue.

As the February meeting proved, you just never know what’s going to happen at a CJC meeting. Case in point: Lawrence Baxter drove from Durham in his Proteus C-type accompanied by Chris Randall, managing director at Hofmann’s of Henley; managing director of Proteus; Lotus dealer for central England; has raced E-Types at Sebring and Daytona and currently races Lotus’s in Europe. Lawrence graciously offered the keys to a couple of members that were interested in taking the Proteus for a short drive.

Once again, we give a big ‘thank you’ to Mimi Morton for making all of the meeting arrangements. I also want to thank all of the presenters who did a good job of highlighting the benefits and activities of our club to the new members in attendance. In fact new member Richard Lloyd-Roberts has stepped up and volunteered to create a Carolina Jaguar Club website. More on this at a later date as construction begins. This going to be a great year for our club.

Don’t forget to check often for JLR special offers/discounts at jlrprivateoffer.com. One of the most lucrative offers is $5,000 off a 2016 XJ. This offer expires on March 31. There are several other offers on other models. If you have any trouble accessing the discounts, give me a call and I’ll walk you through it.

Ron Kuligowski, Jerry and Naoma Ellison and I will be attending the AGM (Annual General Meeting) in March in Vancouver, B.C. which happens to coincide with the CJC March meeting. We will take copious notes and report back to you with all the details at the April meeting.

Drive on,

Diane
