The JCNA International Jaguar Festival (IJF) is just around the corner – literally – at Lanier Islands Legacy Lodge, Buford, Georgia, October 12, 13, 14. The registration deadline for concours-judged cars is September 15. This will be the first time that the IJF is held on the east coast. Scott and I have registered and I hope to see other CJC members there.

Over the past two years, Jaguar North America has launched the XE, F-Pace and F-type, and, coming soon, the I-Pace, an all-electric model making for exciting times for Jaguar enthusiasts. It’s also worth noting that the F-Pace has received many huge motoring awards. Most notably the 2017 World Car of the Year and 2017 World Car Design.

Our award-winning editor, Jerry Cohen, wasted no time developing relationships with the staff at Hendrick Auto Group’s Jaguar Charlotte and secured concours sponsorship and advertising support from our newest Jaguar dealer. You may have noticed at our concours at Little Switzerland this year, Jaguar Asheville was a major sponsor for the first time – thanks to the efforts of our concours co-chairs, David and Rhonda Ballard. In passing the baton to Jerry after the concours they may soon be an advertiser as well.

Other behind-the scene efforts are reaping huge benefits in our membership growth. The membership chairs, Nancy and Kevin Willis, have teamed up with our social media guru and webmaster, Richard Lloyd-Roberts to follow up with people who have expressed an interest through Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter in joining our club. Thanks to their efforts, our membership is growing.

I encourage you to visit our website, www.carolinajaguarclub.com. You’ll be amazed at what Richard has accomplished in a short time. Don’t forget to send a photo of you and your Jag(s) to Richard so he can add it to the gallery of members’ photos with their cars on the website.

Our August meeting is at the Grandover Resort & Spa next Saturday. I’m looking forward to seeing you there. Be sure to visit our calendar of events page at the back of this newsletter. Concours, road trips, and events, oh my!
